A Family Affair

Meet the Hollenbeck family

“Out of all the projects Viviana and I have attempted in our lives, our proudest achievement was the raising of our wonderful Daughters. The building of a tight, loving family unit is the greatest aspiration any of us can obtain.”

- Eric Hollenbeck

Girl Powered Machines

We’re the Hollenbeck girls. Daughters Cita, Cara and Dayl and Granddaughter Malana.

Even though growing up was not full of glitz and glam and we had our struggles along the way, the Blue Ox Mill was our version of a dream.  We grew up with the value and know-how of working with our hands, keeping the past alive, and caring about our community. We have put so much love and joy into the Blue Ox Mill and we love being able to share it with so many people from all over the world! Life at the Blue Ox Mill taught us to be self-starters, and today, in addition to our participation at the Ox, each of us finds passion in running our own businesses.

Cita owns an International Health & Wellness business and believes in a holistic approach to beauty, health, and well-being, focusing on the whole person to help them flourish inside and out.

Cara is a life and business coach, and teacher of spirituality.  She leads transformational retreats and healing programs on meditation, intuitive development and relationships.

Dayl owns a therapeutic massage business providing trigger point therapy, neuromuscular and myofascial release that helps people rehab from chronic injuries. Being a former chronic pain sufferer herself, Dayl is passionate about teaching people about their bodies and assisting in the healing process.

Malana is excelling in High school. She’s currently enrolled in a selective engineering program and just made the varsity water polo team as well as the varsity swim team. We are so proud of her!

Thank you for letting us welcome you to the Blue Ox Mill’s Family.  We hope you enjoy the community!

Eric & Viviana Hollenbeck

It is very humbling to find oneself in the position of being worshipped, but the truth is that I feel that from Eric ~ and he feels that from me. Though Fate played a large part in Eric and my love story, equally important has been our shared commitment to our own personal growth, to each other, to our family and to our community.

As our daughter Dayl wrote on the occasion of our 40th Anniversary Celebration:

Their love has been the guiding light through all of life’s moments; the joys, the agonizing, and the magnificent. Through every challenge and every victory, that love has been the foundation and though it has been rocked, it has never failed. It is the backbone of the business they have built, which is an oasis of healing, history, and education. The love they share and the relationship they have cultivated has been an inspiration to so many over the years. It truly is the very thing poets have written about for ages.

Where Even the Run-of-the-Mill is Extraordinary

Over the years the Blue Ox has seen a lot of changes. Every change that has occurred, whether big or small, and every person that has come through or spent time here has left their mark on the place. The Blue Ox has grown in such an organic way that it has only been in more recent years that we have really and truly realized the potential of the place. Following ones heart and passion is not always a clear path and sometimes it’s not ‘til you can take a look through the past that you can really start to understand the magnitude of what you have created. Thank you to everyone that has made this place so special. Enjoy a few of our Media highlights over the years!
